33rd ANNUAL LABOR DAY MUDBALL CLASSIC
INVITATIONAL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

Greetings Softballers!!
Once again it’s almost MUDBALL time. The Sitka Softball Association invites your team to come and participate in the 33rd annual LABOR DAY MUDBALL CLASSIC Softball Tournament, sponsored by Allen Marine and Kelly’s Sports Pub. Tournament dates are September 4th – 7th, 2009.
- All teams will be guaranteed four (4) games.
- The tournament is open to Men and Women, or boys and girls who are 16 by August 30th, 2009.
- There will be two divisions in the Men’s, Women’s and Coed tournaments.
- It is important to get your rosters in early. We’re proud to announce our new complex is complete and will be used during the tournament. Team rosters and entry fees must reach the treasurer by Saturday, August 22nd, 2009.
- Entry fee is $250.00 (US funds). Fees should be paid with a money order or cashier’s check – no personal checks. Early entries will be $225.00 if received by the 19th of August.
- Out of town teams should be ready to play Friday, September 4th.
- Awards Ceremony will take place at Kelly’s Sports Pub immediately following the final game.

MUDBALL RULES 2009
Have fun.
No protest – we’re all here to have fun.
Games are 1 hour for Round Robin, 1 hour for Double Elimination. So hustle. (No grace period)
No time limit for Championship games.
Line-ups must be turned in to scorekeeper 10 minutes prior to scheduled game time.
Home run rule: Unlimited – except on Blatchley Field, limit 5).
Home team shall keep score if no scorekeeper is available.
Compression rule is in effect for first out only.
A minimum of 8 players are needed to start and end a game.
Casual profanity rule is in effect.
Each team will be allowed up to 3 courtesy runners per game.
12-run rule is in effect after 5 innings.
Metal cleats are not allowed – (except Moller, due to soggy sod.)
All championship games will be held on Monday, September 4th, 2009.
Only ASA approved bats will be allowed (no Titanium bats will be allowed.)
Coed teams will use single-wall ASA approved bats only.
No pick-up players will be allowed after the first double-elimination game is played.
